Ramble on Rose by The Grateful Dead

Loving summer:) "The grass ain't greener, The wine ain't sweeter, Either side of the hill..."

Just like jack the ripper, just like mojo hand,
Just like billy Sunday, in a shotgun ragtime band,
Just like New York city, just like Jericho,
Pace the halls and climb the walls and get out when they blow.

Did you say your name was ramblin' rose?
Ramble on baby, settle down easy
Ramble on rose.

Just like Jack and Jill, mama told the sailor
One heat up, and one cool down, leave nothin' for the tailor.
Just like Jack and Jill, papa told the jailer
One go up, and one go down, do yourself a favor.

Did you say your name was ramblin' rose?
Ramble on baby, settle down easy
Ramble on rose.

I'm gonna to sing you a hundred verses in ragtime,
I know this song it ain't never gonna end.
I'm gonna march you up and down along the county line,
Take you to the leader of a band!!!!

Just like crazy Otto, just like wolfman jack,
Sittin' plush with a royal flush, aces back to back.
Just like Mary Shelly, just like Frankenstein,
Clank your chains and count your change and try to walk the line.

Did you say your name was ramblin' rose?
Ramble on baby, settle down easy
Ramble on rose.

I'm gonna to sing you a hundred verses in ragtime,
I know this song it ain't never gonna end.
I'm gonna march you up and down along the county line,
Take you to the leader of a band.

Good-bye mama and papa
Good-bye Jack and Jill
The grass ain't greener
The wine ain't sweeter
Either side of the hill.

Did you say your name was ramblin' rose?
Ramble on baby, settle down easy
Ramble on rose.

Your Wildest Dreams by the Moody Blues

I remember this video from when I was young. MTV was the best and I loved it! I still love this song. Recently just bought a new Moody Blues CD:)  "And when the music plays, I hear the sound I had to follow..."

Once upon a time
Once when you were mine
I remember skies
Reflected in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you think about me
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

Once the world was new
Our bodies felt the morning dew
That greets the brand new day
We couldn't tear ourselves away
I wonder if you care
I wonder if you still remember
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

And when the music plays
And when the words are touched with sorrow
When the music plays
I hear the sound I had to follow
Once upon a time

Once beneath the stars
The universe was ours
Love was all we knew
And all I knew was you
I wonder if you know
I wonder if you think about it
Once upon a time
In your wildest dreams

Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
Ah, ah,…

Crazy Mary by Pearl Jam

I have very vivid memories of hearing this song for the first time in sixth grade. One of my friends older sisters was playing it and it called for me. I spent years and years trying to find the song. Thanks to the creation of the internet, I found it many years later. I love this song and all the memories I think of when I hear it. Something about it calls to me. "That what you fear the most, could meet you half way...Wild eyed, crazy mary...And Mary rising up above it all!"

She lived on the curve of the road,
In an old, tar-paper shack
On the south side of the town,
On the wrong side of the tracks

Sometimes on the way into town we'd say:
"Mama, can we stop and give her a ride?"
Sometimes we did,
But her hands flew from her side
Wild eyed, crazy Mary

Down a long dirt road, past the Parson's place
That old blue car we used to race
Little country store
With a sign tacked to the side
Said 'No L-O-I-T-E-are-I-N-G Allowed'

Underneath that sign
Always congregated quite a crowd
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around

One night thunder cracked,
Mercy backed outside her window sill
Dreamed I was flying high above the trees,
Over the hills
Looked down into the house of Mary
Bare bulb hung, newspaper-covered walls,
And Mary rising above it all

Next morning on the way into town
Saw some skid marks and followed them around
Over the curve, through the fields,
Into the house of Mary

That what you fear the most,
Could meet you halfway
That what you fear the most,
Could meet you halfway

Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around
Take a bottle, drink it down, pass it around

Shelter From the Storm by Bob Dylan

Loving this version of this song! "With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair, She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns, Come in, she said, I'll give ya shelter from the storm..."

Twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood
When blackness was a virtue the road was full of mud
I came in from the wilderness, a creature void of form
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

Not a word was spoke between us, there was little risk involved
Everything up to that point had been left unresolved
Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

Well, the deputy walks on hard nails and the preacher rides a mount
But nothing really matters much, it's doom alone that counts
And the one-eyed undertaker, he blows a futile horn
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail
Poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail
Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

Now there's a wall between us, somethin' there's been lost
I took too much for granted, I got my signals crossed
Just to think that it all began on an uneventful morn
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes
I bargained for salvation and she gave me a lethal dose
I offered up my innocence I got repaid with scorn
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm

Well, I'm livin' in a foreign country but I'm bound to cross the line
Beauty walks a razor's edge, someday I'll make it mine
If I could only turn back the clock to when God and her were born
Come in, she said
I'll give ya shelter from the storm
