Music makes me happy! I've loved anything with a beat and guitar since I was a kid thanks to my fathers ways;) Now I leave my favorite songs and lyrics to my two kiddos. The bold ones are my favorites. The italicized are me just rambling on...;) Forever and ever all of my love K and Z!

Nights in White Satin by the Moody Blues
"Gazing at people, Some hand in hand, Just what I'm going thru, They can't understand!"
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore...
'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what I'm going thru
They can't understand!!!!!!
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend,
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,
And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters I've written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty I'd always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I can't say anymore.
'Cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
'Cause I love you,

Oh, how, I love you.

The Sound of Silence by Simon and Garfunkel
Sometimes silence is good, but the idea is so effing scary. I deserve the silence that will officially now surround me...I sure hope silence doesn't grow like a cancer, as referred to in this song. I have to believe it won't! HOPE! "Because a vision softly creeping, Left its seeds while I was sleeping, And the vision that was planted in my brain, Still remains, Within the sound of silence..."
Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone,
'Neath the halo of a street lamp,
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence.
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.
"Fools," said I, "You do not know –
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you.
Take my arms that I might reach you."
But my words like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made.
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming.
And the sign said, The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls
And whispered in the sound of silence.
Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,

Whipping Post by The Allman Brothers
In honor of Duane Allman. Wished he would of lived longer to make more music. My dad talked about the day he died almost every time we listened to them, which was on a daily basis. According to him, they never were nearly as good and it just wasn't the same after Duane died... "Nothing seems to change, Bad times stay the same, and I can't run..."
I've been run down
I've been lied to
I don't know why,
I let that mean woman make me a fool
She took all my money
Wrecks my new car
Now she's with one of my good time buddies
They're drinkin' in some cross town bar
Sometimes I feel
Sometimes I feel
Like I've been tied
To the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post
Good lord I feel like I'm dyin'
My friends tell me
That I've been such a fool
And I have to stand down and take it babe,
All for lovin' you
I drown myself in sorrow
As I look at what you've done
Nothin' seems to change
Bad times stay the same
And I can't run
Sometimes I feel
Sometimes I feel
Like I've been tied
To the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post
Good lord I feel like I'm dyin'
Sometimes I feel
Sometimes I feel
Like I've been tied
To the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post
Tied to the whipping post
Good lord I feel like I'm dyin'

Sweet Jane performed by Cowboy Junkies
RIP Lou Reed. While I really do like the Velvet Underground version, Cowboy Junkies is my preference for this song! I remember this music video from when MTV played music. I even like these lyrics better... "Heavenly wine and roses, Seem to whisper to me, When you smile..."
Anyone who's ever had a heart
Wouldn't turn around and break it
And anyone who's ever played a part
Wouldn't turn around and hate it
Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
You're waiting
For Jimmy down in the alley
Waiting there for him to come back home
Waiting down on the corner
And thinking of ways
To get back home
Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Anyone who's ever had a dream
Anyone who's ever played a part
Anyone who's ever been lonely
And anyone who's ever split apart
Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Heavenly wine and roses
Seem to whisper to me
When you smile
Heavenly when and roses
Seem to whisper to me
When you smile
La la la la, la la la,
Sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Anyone who's ever had a heart
Wouldn't turn around and break it
And anyone who's ever played a part
Wouldn't turn around and hate it
Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
You're waiting
For Jimmy down in the alley
Waiting there for him to come back home
Waiting down on the corner
And thinking of ways
To get back home
Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Anyone who's ever had a dream
Anyone who's ever played a part
Anyone who's ever been lonely
And anyone who's ever split apart
Sweet Jane, sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane
Heavenly wine and roses
Seem to whisper to me
When you smile
Heavenly when and roses
Seem to whisper to me
When you smile
La la la la, la la la,
Sweet Jane
Sweet, sweet Jane

Harvest Moon by Neil Young and My Morning Jacket
So pretty...
Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.
But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.
When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.
But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.
Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

My Road by Scott James
Really digging this song right now! I don't know anything about this guy but I do like this song! KZ please promise to do what YOU want! Eff what "they" want;) "And they told him just what he needs to know, And they know this, they have no doubts at all he, But he won't just seem to calm down and do what people want..."
This empty room is full of angst
A notebooks on the bed
But the pages are all blank
The door is closed; the lights are dim
Anything to try and keep the world away from him
All he wants is something new
They gave him pressure; it's the least that they could do
The light outside is moving past
Oh he tries to jump in, but it's moving too fast
And they told him just what he needs to know
And they know this; they have no doubts at all
But he won't just seem to calm down and do what people want!!!!
So he goes out and writes the perfect wrong
In his unfaithful song
Now the middle page is full of sweat and tears
With words between the lines that he tries to make appear
And when they do he sees something new
It's like a painting on a page that he's not yet used to
All he wants is to give his truth
They gave him pressure, and they stole away his youth
Now he tries to find his own road
It's so hard to find one, but it's easy to come close
And they told him just what he needs to know
And they know this; they have no doubts at all
But he won't just seem to calm down and do what people want
So he goes out and writes the perfect wrong
In his unfaithful song
And they told him just what he needs to know
And they know this; they have no doubts at all
But he won't just seem to calm down and do what people want

Can't Find My Way Home by Blind Faith
Back to the basics. "Come down on your own...Somebody must change...Somebody holds the key..."
Come down off your throne
and leave your body alone.
Somebody must change.
You are the reason
I've been waiting so long.
Somebody holds the key.
But I'm near the end and
I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and
I can't find my way home.
Come down on your own
and leave your body alone.
Somebody must change.
You are the reason
I've been waiting all these years.
Somebody holds the key.
But I'm near the end and
I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and
I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
Still I can't find my way home,
And I ain't done nothing wrong,
But I can't find my way home.
Come down off your throne
and leave your body alone.
Somebody must change.
You are the reason
I've been waiting so long.
Somebody holds the key.
But I'm near the end and
I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and
I can't find my way home.
Come down on your own
and leave your body alone.
Somebody must change.
You are the reason
I've been waiting all these years.
Somebody holds the key.
But I'm near the end and
I just ain't got the time
And I'm wasted and
I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
But I can't find my way home.
Still I can't find my way home,
And I ain't done nothing wrong,
But I can't find my way home.

State of Love and Trust by Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo 10/22/13
This was my favorite song of the night! It was such an amazing concert. They have gotten BETTER with age! I'm hoping that is the case with all of me:) "And I listen for the voice inside my head, Nothing, I'll do this one myself... And the barrel shakes aimed a directly at my head, Oh, help me, help me from myself!"
State of love and trust as I busted down the pretext
Sin still plays and preaches, but to have an empty court, uh huh
And the signs are passin', grip the wheel, can't read it
Sacrifice receiving the smell that's on my hands, hands, yeah
And I listen for the voice inside my head
Nothin', I'll do this one myself!!!
Lay her down as priest does, should the Lord be accountin'
Will be in my honor, make it pain, painfully quick, uh huh
Promises are whispered in the age of darkness
Want to be enlightened like I want to be told the end, end, yeah
And the barrel shakes aimed a directly at my head
Oh, help me, help me from myself!
And I listen from both sides of a friend
Nothin', I'll do this one myself
Myself, myself
Hey, na na na na, hey that's something
Wanna back, back it away, yeah
And I listen, yeah, for the voice inside my head
Nothin', I'll do this one myself
And the barrel waits, trigger shakes
Aimed right at my fucking head, won't you help me
Help me from myself
State of love and trust, and a
State of love and trust, and a
State of love and trust, and a
State of love and yeah yeah
State of love and trust as I busted down the pretext
Sin still plays and preaches, but to have an empty court, uh huh
And the signs are passin', grip the wheel, can't read it

Pearl Jam @ Wells Fargo 10/22/13
These two songs made my night at the Pearl Jam concert!!! So grateful I was there to see this live!
"Hear my name
Take a good look
This could be the day
Hold my hand
Walk beside me
I just need to say..."
"And I listen for the voice inside my head,
NOTHING! I'll do this one myself..."
"Hear my name
Take a good look
This could be the day
Hold my hand
Walk beside me
I just need to say..."
"And I listen for the voice inside my head,
NOTHING! I'll do this one myself..."

Betterman by Pearl Jam
Pearl Jam tonight with Jodi. I am in serious NEEEEED of some live and loud music! I have not heard one of their new songs from their new album, so I am HOPING they play a lot of old shit. Either way I will be a very happy camper! "Memories back when she was smooth and strong and waiting for the world to come along..."
Waitin', watchin' the clock, it's four o'clock, it's got to stop
Tell him, take no more, she practices her speech
As he opens the door, she rolls over...
Pretends to sleep as he looks her over
She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Ohh...
Talkin' to herself, there's no one else who needs to know...
She tells herself, oh...
Memories back when she was smooth and strong
And waiting for the world to come along...
Swears she knew it, now she swears she's gone
She lies and says she's in love with him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Yeah...
She loved him, yeah... she don't want to leave this way
She feeds him, yeah... that's why she'll be back again
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better... man...

She lies and says she still loves him, can't find a better man...
She dreams in color, she dreams in red, can't find a better man...
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Yeah...
She loved him, yeah... she don't want to leave this way
She feeds him, yeah... that's why she'll be back again
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better man
Can't find a better... man...

Waiting on a Friend by The Rolling Stones
The sax in this is amazing! "But I need someone I can cry to, I need someone to protect...I'm just waiting on a friend..."
Watching girls go passing by
It ain't the latest thing
I'm just standing in a doorway
I'm just trying to make some sense
Out of these girls go passing by
The tales they tell of men
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
A smile relieves a heart that grieves
Remember what I said
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
I'm just waiting on a friend
Don't need a whore
I don't need no booze
Don't need a virgin priest
But I need someone I can cry to
I need someone to protect
Making love and breaking hearts
It is a game for youth
But I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend...
Watching girls go passing by
It ain't the latest thing
I'm just standing in a doorway
I'm just trying to make some sense
Out of these girls go passing by
The tales they tell of men
I'm not waiting on a lady
I'm just waiting on a friend
A smile relieves a heart that grieves
Remember what I said

I am a Patriot by Eddie Vedder
Pearl Jam in three days! Very excited:) This song is perfect for all this political bullshit going on right now! Wish I didn't have to be bothered with this nonsense... I definitely don't want Eddie Vedder going off about all this crap at the concert either...! "I want to run like the lion released from the cages, Released from the rages burning in my soul tonight..."
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
Someday
I was walking with my brother and he wondered what's on my mind
I said, “What I believe in my soul ain't what I see with my eyes
And there is no turning back this time”
I am a patriot and I love my county
Because my country is all I know
I want to be with my family people who understand me
I've got nowhere else to go
And I was talking with my boyfriend, he looked so fine
I said, "Baby, what's on your mind?"
"I want to run like the lion released from the cages
Released from the rages burning in my soul tonight"
I am a patriot
And I ain't no Communist and I ain't no Capitalist
And I ain't no Socialist and I ain't no Imperialist
And I ain't no Democrat and sure as fuck aint no Republican either
I only know one party and that is freedom
I am, I am, I am
I am a patriot and I love my country
Because my county is all I know
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
Someday
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous
And the river opens for the righteous

Kashmir by Led Zeppelin
Been on a bit of a Zeppelin kick. Music I can listen to loud enough to make me forget:) Age means nothing to these guys! "Oh, father of the four winds, Fill my sails, across the sea of years..."
Oh let the sun beat down upon my face
Stars to fill my dreams
I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
Secret elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace
Whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Woah, woah
Ooh, oh baby I been flying
There's no denying
Mama ma, ain't no denyin', no denyin...?
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I been
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert screen
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon
I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June
When movin' through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds
Fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
'Long the straits of fear
Woah, woah, woah
Oh...
Well, when I want
When I'm on my way, yeah
When I see
When I see the way, you stay, yeah
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah...
Oh let the sun beat down upon my face
Stars to fill my dreams
I am a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
Secret elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace
Whose sounds caress my ear
But not a word I heard could I relate
The story was quite clear
Woah, woah
Ooh, oh baby I been flying
There's no denying
Mama ma, ain't no denyin', no denyin...?
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Trying to find, trying to find where I been
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place
Yellow desert screen
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon
I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June
When movin' through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds
Fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face
'Long the straits of fear
Woah, woah, woah
Oh...
Well, when I want
When I'm on my way, yeah
When I see
When I see the way, you stay, yeah
Ooh, yeah yeah, ooh, yeah yeah...

Little Wing performed by Allman Brothers and Eric Clapton
I can only wish that my smile can make someone's day happier! That's a good goal that I am officially setting for you to have K and Z! Make at least three people smile a day! Great version of this song! These two can cover any song and I would love it! "When I'm sad, she comes to me, With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free, Saying it's alright, it's alright, Take anything you want from me, Anything!..."
Well she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running round
Butterflies and zebras
Fairy tales
That's all she thinks about
When I'm sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
Saying it's alright, it's alright
Take anything you want from me,
Anything!!!
Fly on little wing,
Yeah yeah, yeah, little wing
Well she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running round
Butterflies and zebras
Fairy tales
That's all she thinks about
Running with the wind!
When I'm sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
Saying it's alright, it's alright
Take anything you want from me,
Anything!
Well she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running round
Butterflies and zebras
Fairy tales
That's all she thinks about
When I'm sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
Saying it's alright, it's alright
Take anything you want from me,
Anything!!!
Fly on little wing,
Yeah yeah, yeah, little wing
Well she's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running round
Butterflies and zebras
Fairy tales
That's all she thinks about
Running with the wind!
When I'm sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
Saying it's alright, it's alright
Take anything you want from me,
Anything!

Society by Eddie Vedder
Such an absolutely true song! Unfortunately, the movie this song is from (Into the Wild) bothered the absolute shit out of me, more then words can even express! What a bad person he was for leaving everyone to worry! Selfish! Anyways...this song is great and sadly enough accurate! "Society, have mercy on me, I hope you're not angry if I disagree!"
It's a mystery to me
We have a greed with which we have agreed
You think you have to want more than you need
Until you have it all you won't be free
Society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
When you want more than you have
You think you need
And when you think more than you want
Your thoughts begin to bleed
I think I need to find a bigger place
'Cause when you have more than you think
You need more space
Society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
Society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me
There's those thinking more or less, less is more
But if less is more how you're keeping score?
Means for every point you make your level drops
Kinda like it's starting from the top, you can't do that
Society, you're a crazy breed
I hope you're not lonely without me
Society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me
Society, have mercy on me
I hope you're not angry if I disagree
Society, crazy and deep
I hope you're not lonely without me

Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain by Willie Nelson (Ben Harper/Jack Johnson)
This was my first favorite Willie Nelson song. What a sad effing tune! I just hate to think it ends like that! "I knew we'd never meet again..."
In the twilight glow I see her
Blue eyes cryin' in the rain
When we kissed goodbye and parted
I knew we'd never meet again
Love is like a dyin' ember
Only memories remain
Through the ages I'll remember
Blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Some day when we meet up yonder
We'll stroll hand in hand again
In a land that knows no partin'
Blue eyes cryin' in the rain...
In the twilight glow I see her
Blue eyes cryin' in the rain
When we kissed goodbye and parted
I knew we'd never meet again
Love is like a dyin' ember
Only memories remain
Through the ages I'll remember
Blue eyes cryin' in the rain
Some day when we meet up yonder
We'll stroll hand in hand again
In a land that knows no partin'
Blue eyes cryin' in the rain...
Horizon has been Defeated into BadFish into Boss D.J. by Jack Johnson
In need of music today to get me through!!! Jack Johnson is great and all but he does not do Sublime justice! Three songs=three favorite lyric choices;)
"Anger don't you step too close, 'Cause people are lonely, And only animals with fancy shoes..."
"When you grab a hold of me, tell me that I'll never be set free!"
"It's so nice, I want to hear the same song twice!"
Horizon has been Defeated
Horizon has been defeated
By the pirates of the new age
Alien casinos
Well maybe it's just time to say
The things can go bad
And make you wanna run away!
But as we grow older
The trouble just seems to stay
Future complications
In the strings between the cans
But no prints can come from fingers
If machines become our hands
Our feet become the wheels
And then the wheels become the cars
And then the rigs begin to drill
Until the drilling goes too far
Things can go bad
And make you wanna run away
But as we grow older
Horizon begins to fade away, fade away
Thingamajigsaw puzzled
And anger don't you step too close
'Cause people are lonely
And only animals with fancy shoes
And Hallelujahs exact nothing
And misery it's on the loose
People are lonely
And only animals with too many tools
That can build all the junk that we sell
Aw sometimes man make you wanna yell
That things can go bad
And make you wanna run away
But as we grow older
Horizon begins to fade away, fade away
Fade, fade, fade
Fade, fade, fade
BADFISH:
When you grab a hold of me
Tell me that I'll never be set free
But I'm a parasite,
Creep and crawl I step into the night.
Two pints of booze
Tell me are you a badfish too?
Are you a badfish too?
Ain't got no money to spend
I hope the night will never end
Lord knows that I'm weak
Won't somebody get me off of this reef
Baby you're a big blue whale
Grab the reef when all duck diving fails
I swim, but wish I'd never learned
The water's too polluted with germs
I dive deep when it's ten feet overhead
Grab the reef underneath my bed (it's underneath my bed)
Ain't got no quarrels with God
Ain't got no time to grow old
Lord knows that I'm weak
Won't somebody get me off of this reef
Partial version of Boss DJ:
There's a steel train comin' through I would take it if I could
And I would not lie to you because Sunday mornin' soon will come
When things will be much easier to say
Upon the microphone like a boss D.J.
But I won't walk up upon the sea like it was dry land
Boss D.J. ain't nothin' but a man
No trouble, no fuss, I know why
It's so nice, I wanna hear the same song twice!!!!
It's so nice, I wanna hear the same song twice
Nowadays all the songs on the radio
They all
All drive me crazy
"Anger don't you step too close, 'Cause people are lonely, And only animals with fancy shoes..."

Questions by Moody Blues
What a wealth of good advice from one song!!! It's kind of sad though if you really think about it... It's hard to pick my favorite lyrics from this song. "I'm looking for a miracle in my life..."
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
With a thousand million questions
About hate and death and war.
It's where we stop and look around us
There is nothing that we need.
In a world of persecution
That is burning in it's greed.
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?
Because the truth is hard to swallow
That's what the wall of love is for.
It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me.
It's more the way that you mean it
When you tell me what will be.
And when you stop and think about it
You won't believe it's true.
That all the love you've been giving
Has all been meant for you.
I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the love I knew
Could safely lead me through.
Between the silence of the mountains
And the crashing of the sea
There lies a land I once lived in
And she's waiting there for me!!!
But in the grey of the morning
My mind becomes confused
Between the dead and the sleeping
And the road that I must choose.
I'm looking for someone to change my life.
I'm looking for a miracle in my life.
And if you could see what it's done to me
To lose the the love I knew
Could safely lead me to
The land that I once knew.
To learn as we grow old
The secrets of our souls.
It's not the way that you say it
When you do those things to me.
It's more the way you really mean it
When you tell me what will be.
Why do we never get an answer
When we're knocking at the door?

When My Train Pulls In by Gary Clark Jr.
HOLY HELL he can play the guitar! This is definitely someone I would like to see live in a very small venue so I could watch his fingers move! So grateful when I find some new music:) "I'll be ready now, I'll be ready when my train pulls in..."
Everyday nothing seems to change
Everywhere I go I keep seeing the same old things
I can't take it no more
But I would leave this town
I ain't got no where else to go
Wake up in the morning to more bad news and I
Sometimes I feel like I was born to lose and I
It's driving me out of my mind
I'm gonna catch the next train
And then I'll move on down the line
I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
I know my time ain't long and I
I can't live this life again
Walking down the street you might wanna cross a smiling face
But they'll stab you in the back as soon as you turn, walk away and I
Oh Lord, it's bringing me down
I'm gonna catch the next train and I
Will move on out of town
I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
I'll be ready now
I'll be ready when my train pulls in
I know my time ain't long
I can't live this life again
Everyday nothing seems to change
Everywhere I go I keep seeing the same old things
I can't take it no more
But I would leave this town

Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones
Great older version of this song! It's one you have to listen to loud:) Love finding old Rolling Stones clips on youtube. They have changed so much yet they still fucking ROCK!!! "If I don't get some shelter, Oh yea, I'm gonna FADE AWAY..."
Oh, a storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away!
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Ooh, see the fire is sweepin'
Our very street today
Looks like a red coal carpet
Mad bull lost its way
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Rape, murder!
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
See the floods is threatening
My very life today
Gimme, gimme shelter
Or I'm gonna fade away!
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Oh, a storm is threatening
My very life today
If I don't get some shelter
Oh yeah, I'm gonna fade away!
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
Ooh, see the fire is sweepin'
Our very street today
Looks like a red coal carpet

War, children, it's just a shot away
It's just a shot away
War, children, it's just a shot away

Where Dirt and Water Collide by White Buffalo
I am in absolute heaven with this song! Haven't heard it in a bit:) "Can I hide in your breeze awhile...Let the sun light me don't let it dim..."
Summer wind, is blowin' in
Can I hide in your breeze awhile!!!!
And I saw it rise, with you my friend
'Till I reached the tide side, where the dirt and water collide
Let the
Let the sun
The morning sun, has just begun
Can I bathe in your heat and light
It's washed in red, it must go down again
Not too soon can you arrive
Well I'll wait for you through the night
Let the sun fill me up again
Let the sun light me up don't let it dim
Summer wind, is blowin' in
Can I hide in your breeze awhile
And I saw it rise, with you my friend
'Till I reached the tide side, where the dirt and water collide
Let the sun fill me up again
Let the sun light me up don't let it dim
Let the sun fill me up again
Summer wind, is blowin' in
Can I hide in your breeze awhile!!!!
And I saw it rise, with you my friend

Blue on Black by Kenny Wayne Shepherd
This popped up on my youtube and I am very happy:) I used to love this song! Hearing it is like meeting an old friend:) Guitar Center Sessions on youtube rock!!! "Night falls and I'm alone!...Blind oh now I see...:"
Night, falls, and I'm alone!!!
Skin, yeah, chilled me to the bone
You, turned and you ran,
Oh yeah
Oh slipped, right from my hand
Hey
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead man's touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Don't bring you back
Blue on black
Oh yeah, blue on black
Blind, oh, now I see
Truth, lies, and in between
Wrong, cant be undone
Oh slipped, from the tip of
Your tongue
Hey
Blue on black
Tears on a river
Push on a shove
It don't mean much
Joker on jack
Match on a fire
Cold on ice
A dead mans touch
Whisper on a scream
Doesn't change a thing
Doesn't bring you back, yeah
Blue on black

A Horse with No Name by America
I need a minor journey like this today on this Sunday Funday!!! This song may of been written many many years ago, but it's perfect for whats going on today as well. I guess things don't really ever change..."Under the cities lies, a heart made of ground, But the humans will give no love!!!"
On the first part of the journey,
I was looking at all the life.
There were plants and birds and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The first thing I met, was a fly with a buzz,
And the sky, with no clouds.
The heat was hot, and the ground was dry,
But the air was full of sound.
I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain!!!
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
After two days, in the desert sun,
My skin began to turn red.
After three days, in the desert fun,
I was looking at a river bed.
And the story it told, of a river that flowed,
Made me sad to think it was dead.
You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la
After nine days, I let the horse run free,
'Cause the desert had turned to sea.
There were plants and birds, and rocks and things,
There was sand and hills and rings.
The ocean is a desert, with it's life underground,
And a perfect disguise above.
Under the cities lies, a heart made of ground,
But the humans will give no love!!!
You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name,
It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la...

It felt good to be out of the rain.
In the desert you can remember your name,
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain.
La la, la, la la la la, la la la, la, la...

Tangled up in Blue by Bob Dylan
Fun story in a song! If you really sit and read/listen to the lyrics it's a pretty good story! Wonder how it would of ended..."The only thing I knew how to do, Was to keep on keeping on like a bird that flew, Tangled up in blue..."
Early one morning the sun was shining
She was laying in bed
Wond'ring if she'd changed it all
If her hair was still red
Their folks they said their lives together
Sure was gonna be rough
They never did like Mama's homemade dress
Papa's bankbook wasn't big enough
And he was standing on the side of the road
Rain falling on his shoes
Heading out for the East Coast
Lord knows he'd paid some dues getting through
Tangled up in blue.
She was married when they first met
Soon to be divorced
He helped her out of a jam I guess
But he used a little too much force
They drove that car as far as we could
Abandoned it out West
Split it up on a dark sad night
Both agreeing it was best
She turned around to look at him
As he was walking away
Saying over her shoulder
"We'll meet again someday on the avenue"
Tangled up in blue.
He had a job in Santa Fe
Working as a cook for a spell
But he never did like it all that much
And one day the axe just fell
So he drifted down to New Orleans
Where I happened to be employed
Working for a while on a fishing boat
Right outside of Delacroix
But all the while he was alone
The past was close behind
He'd seen a lot of women
But she never escaped my mind and it just grew
Tangled up in blue.
She was working in a topless place
And I stopped in for a beer
I just kept looking at her side of her face
In the spotlight so clear
And later on as the crowd thinned out
I was just about to do the same
She was standing there in back of my chair
Said to me "Don't tell me let me guess your name ?"
I muttered something underneath my breath
She studied the lines on my face
I must admit I felt a little uneasy
When she bent down to tie the laces of my shoe
Tangled up in blue.
I lived with them on Montague Street
In a basement down the stairs
There was music in the cafes at night
And revolution in the air
Then he started into dealing with slaves
And something inside of him died
She had to sell everything she owned
And froze up inside
And when it all came crashing through
I became withdrawn
The only thing I knew how to do
Was to keep on keeping on like a bird that flew
Tangled up in blue.
So now I'm going on back again
I got to get them somehow
All the faces we used to know
They're an illusion to me now
Some are mathematicians
Some are truckdriver's wives
Don't know how it all got started
I don't what they're doing with their lives
But me I'm still on the road
Heading for another joint
We always did feel the same
We just saw it from a different point of view
Tangled up in Blue.
Early one morning the sun was shining

You and Me by Neil Young
Love these words! Such a pretty song. AND it's Fall which means its totally Neil Young weather:) His music makes me want to get all cuddled up in a blanket outside or something... "Open up your heart, Let the loving start, Open up and let the light back in..."
Open up your eyes
See how life time flies
Open up and let the light back in.
Open up your heart
Let the lovin' start
Open up and let the light back in.
I was thinking of you and me
Makin' love beneath the tree
And now I wonder could it be.
Thinkin' 'bout the times we had
Some were good and some were bad
Guitar fightin' the T.V.
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me!
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me.
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me.
Lookin' at you just the other night
Dancin' in the evening light
True love conquers all.
Old man sittin' there
Touch of grey, but he don't care
When he hears his children call.
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me.
Open up your eyes
See how life time flies
Open up and let the light back in.
Open up your eyes
See how life time flies
Open up and let the light back in.
Open up your heart
Let the lovin' start
Open up and let the light back in.
I was thinking of you and me
Makin' love beneath the tree
And now I wonder could it be.
Thinkin' 'bout the times we had
Some were good and some were bad
Guitar fightin' the T.V.
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me!
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me.
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me.
Dancin' in the evening light
True love conquers all.
Old man sittin' there
Touch of grey, but he don't care
When he hears his children call.
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me
I was thinkin' 'bout you and me.
Open up your eyes
See how life time flies
Open up and let the light back in.

Boogie on Reggae Woman by Legion of Mary
Fun version of this song! I think I definitely like it better then Phishs' or Stevie Wonders' version...maybe... depends on the day:) "I'd like to see you in the raw:)- ,Under the stars above..."
I like to see you boogie
Right across the floor
I like to do it to you
Till you holla for more
I like to reggae
But you dance too fast for me
I'd like to make love to you
So you can make me scream
Boogie on reggae woman
What is wrong with me
Boogie on reggae woman
Baby what you going to do
I'd like to see both of us
Fall deeply in love
I'd like to see you now
Under the stars above
I'd like to see the both of us
Fall deeply in love
I'd like to see you in the raw!
Under the stars above
Boogie on reggae woman
What is wrong with you
Boogie on reggae woman
What you tryin' to do
Boogie on reggae woman
What is wrong with me
Boogie on reggae woman
What you tryin' to do
Boogie on reggae woman
Let me do it to you
Boogie on reggae woman
What you tryin' to do
Right across the floor
I like to do it to you
Till you holla for more
I like to reggae
But you dance too fast for me
I'd like to make love to you
So you can make me scream
Boogie on reggae woman
What is wrong with me
Boogie on reggae woman
Baby what you going to do
I'd like to see both of us
Fall deeply in love
I'd like to see you now
Under the stars above
I'd like to see the both of us
Fall deeply in love
I'd like to see you in the raw!
Under the stars above
Boogie on reggae woman
What is wrong with you
Boogie on reggae woman
What you tryin' to do
Boogie on reggae woman
What is wrong with me
Boogie on reggae woman
What you tryin' to do
Boogie on reggae woman
Let me do it to you
Boogie on reggae woman
What you tryin' to do
