This song is so stuck in my head...and I keep hear it playing on Sirius, or the radio, or my damn head! Is there a connection between songs stuck in our heads and our thoughts...? Well that was deep and the sun isn't up yet;) "I do believe it's true, that there are roads left in both of our shoes...A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere..."
I want to live where soul meets body
And let the sun wrap its arms around me
And bathe my skin in water cool and cleansing
And feel, feel what it's like to be new
'Cause in my head there’s a Greyhound station
Where I send my thoughts to far off destinations
So they may have a chance of finding a place
Where they’re far more suited than here
I cannot guess what we'll discover
We turn the dirt with our palms cupped like shovels
But I know our filthy hands can wash one another’s
And not one speck will remain
I do believe it’s true that there are roads left in both of our shoes
But if the silence takes you then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near 'cause you’re the only song I want to hear!
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
Where soul meets body
I do believe it’s true that there are roads left in both of our shoes
But if the silence takes you then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near 'cause you’re the only song I want to hear!
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere
Music makes me happy! I've loved anything with a beat and guitar since I was a kid thanks to my fathers ways;) Now I leave my favorite songs and lyrics to my two kiddos. The bold ones are my favorites. The italicized are me just rambling on...;) Forever and ever all of my love K and Z!

This song is haunting me I think...
And I do believe it’s true
But if the silence takes you
Then I hope it takes me too
So brown eyes I hold you near
Cause you’re the only song I want to hear
A melody softly soaring through my atmosphere...
Natural Mystic by Bob Marley
TGIF!!!!! Time for a break. "You see, things are not the way they used to be, I won't tell no lie
One and all have to face reality, Though I've tried to find the answer, To all the questions they ask..."
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air
If you listen carefully now you will hear.
This could be the first trumpet,
Might as well be the last:
Many more will have to suffer,
Many more will have to die - don't ask me why.
You see, things are not the way they used to be
I won't tell no lie
One and all have to face reality
'Though I've tried to find the answer
To all the questions they ask.
Yes I know it's impossible
To go livin' through the past
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air
I won't tell no lie
Cause if you listen carefully now you will hear.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air.
There's a natural mystic...
One and all have to face reality, Though I've tried to find the answer, To all the questions they ask..."
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air
If you listen carefully now you will hear.

Feel It All by KT Tunstall
This song gives me goose bumps! "I'm looking to the sky, And I'll be listening to the stars, And maybe thinking of you, And wondering where you are..."
I'm growing like a seed
Rains been falling on me
I've been covered in cold
I've been shrouded and downed
My heart is on a wire
Sailing pretty like a bird
But the hunter is out
And the eagle is hurt
The word that I
Feel, feel it all
Yes, I can feel
Feel it all
I'm looking to the sky
And I'll be listening to the stars
And maybe thinking of you
And wondering where you are
Do you know what you've done for me
You made my branches grow
Now they can play with the wind
And they can carry the snow
And they can feel
Feel it all
Yes, they can feel,
Feel it all
So take what you want
Leave what you don't need
And I'll go looking for you
You keep your eye out for me
'cause our heart is on a wire
Sitting pretty like a bird
But the hunter is hunting
And the eagle is us
And we can feel
Feel it all
Yes, we can feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can feel
Feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
And we can
Feel, feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can
Feel, feel
we can feel
feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
I'm growing like a seed
Rains been falling on me
I've been covered in cold
I've been shrouded and downed
My heart is on a wire
Sailing pretty like a bird
But the hunter is out
And the eagle is hurt
The word that I
Feel, feel it all
Yes, I can feel
Feel it all
I'm looking to the sky
And I'll be listening to the stars
And maybe thinking of you
And wondering where you are
Do you know what you've done for me
You made my branches grow
Now they can play with the wind
And they can carry the snow
And they can feel
Feel it all
Yes, they can feel,
Feel it all
So take what you want
Leave what you don't need
And I'll go looking for you
You keep your eye out for me
'cause our heart is on a wire

Feel, feel it all
Feel, feel
Feel it all
Oh, we can
Feel, feel
we can feel
feel it all
Feel, feel

Country Road by Jack Johnson and Paula Fuga
I need a fun song this morning to make me smile:) Perfect fit. "What's meant to be will always be though I control my destiny...Universal Law, Babylon shall fall..."
Head on Collision on a two lane country road,
Lord I pray let them be safe.
No turning back I'm just a mile away from home,
I sit here waiting let me be patient.
Sometimes it's hard to ease my mind to realize,
You're always with me waiting, willing
To hear my prayers, my hopes, my dreams, my every need
I pray for light in times of darkness
What's meant to be will always be though I control my destiny,
Free will you gave me even though you made me.
Be careful of the things you do it eventually comes back to you,
Universal law, Babylon shall fall.
Sometimes it's hard to ease my mind to realize,
You're always with me waiting, willing
To hear my prayers, my hopes, my dreams, my every need
I pray for light in times of darkness
Head on Collision on a two lane country road,
Lord I pray let them be safe.
No turning back I'm just a mile away from home,
I sit here waiting let me be patient.
Sometimes it's hard to ease my mind to realize,
You're always with me waiting, willing
To hear my prayers, my hopes, my dreams, my every need
I pray for peace in times of war
Universal law, Babylon shall fall.
The air you breathe comes directly from trees!!!

Time Passes Slowly by Bob Dylan
What a very sad and pretty song... Could be depressing or could be hopeful depending on how you look at it...I'm going with hope! "Time passes slowly when you're lost in a dream..."
Time passes slowly up here in the mountain
We sit beside the bridges and walk beside the fountains
Catch the wild fishes that float though the stream
Time passes slowly when you're lost in a dream.
Once I had a sweetheart, she was fine and good-looking
She sat in the kitchen while her mama was cooking
Stared on out the window to the stars high above
Time passes slowly when you're searching for love.
Ain't no reason to go in a wagon to town
Ain't no reason to go to the fair
Ain't no reason to go up, ain't no reason to go down
Ain't no reason to go anywhere.
Time passes slowly up here in the daylight
We stare straight ahead and try so hard to stay right
Like the red rose of summer that blooms in the day
Time passes slowly and fades away.
Bell Bottom Blues by Eric Clapton
AMAZING youtube clip!!! Eric Clapton concert in 1998 was one of my favorite concerts ever! I was with my three best friends and we were dead sober! We were just chilling with the old timers all around us and the music was perfect! Sometimes, you can't give people a second chance though like the song says..."Bell bottom blues, don't say goodbye. I'm sure we're gonna meet again...I don't want to fade away..."
I don't want to lose this feeling.
And if I could choose a place to die
It would be in your arms.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.
It's all wrong, but it's all right.
The way that you treat me baby.
Once I was strong but I lost the fight.
You won't find a better loser.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.
Bell bottom blues, don't say goodbye.
I'm sure we're gonna meet again,
And if we do, don't you be surprised
If you find me with another lover.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I long to stay.
I don't want to lose this feeling.
And if I could choose a place to die
It would be in your arms.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.

I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.
It's all wrong, but it's all right.

Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?

In your heart I long to stay.

Needle and Damage Done by Neil Young
RIP J!
I caught you knockin' at my cellar door
I love you, baby, can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.
I hit the city and I lost my band
I watched the needle take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.
I sing the song because I love the man
I know that some of you don't understand
Milk-blood to keep from running out.
I've seen the needle and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's like a settin' sun.

Morning Dew by the Grateful Dead
If only we could go back in time!!! One can dream:) Just to do certain things over the way we REALLY want to do them! I need to start YOLO'ing more (you only live once' ing...)! YOLO K and Z!!! "I'll walk you out in the morning dew today...I guess it doesn't matter anyway..."
Walk me out in the morning dew my honey,
Walk me out in the morning dew today.
I can't walk you out in the morning dew my honey,
I can't walk you out in the morning dew today.
I thought I heard a baby cry this morning,
I thought I heard a baby cry today.
You didn't hear no baby cry this morning,
You didn't hear no baby cry today.
Where have all the people gone my honey,
Where have all the people gone today.
There's no need for you to be worrying about all those people,
You never see those people anyway!!!
I thought I heard a young man mourn this morning,
I thought I heard a young man mourn today.
I thought I heard a young man mourn this morning,
I can't walk you out in the morning dew today.
Walk me out in the morning dew my honey,
Walk me out in the morning dew today.
I'll walk you out in the morning dew my honey,
I guess it doesn't really matter anyway,
I guess it doesn't matter anyway,
I guess it doesn't matter anyway,
Guess it doesn't matter anyway.

Tales of Brave Ulysses by Cream
Absolutely love finding new, old music. If only... "And you know you cannot leave her for you touched the distant sand...Any you want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter..."
You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever
But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun
And the colors of the sea blind your eyes with trembling mermaids
And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing
For the sparkling waves are calling you to kiss their white laced lips
And you see a girl's brown body dancing through the turquoise
And her footprints make you follow where the sky loves the sea
And when your fingers find her, she drowns you in her body
Carving deep blue ripples in the tissues of your mind
The tiny purple fishes run laughing through your fingers
And you want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter!!!
Her name is Aphrodite and she rides a crimson shell
And you know you cannot leave her for you touched the distant sands
With tales of brave Ulysses, how his naked ears were tortured
By the sirens sweetly singing
The tiny purple fishes run laughing through your fingers
And you want to take her with you to the hard land of the winter
You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever
But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun
And the colors of the sea blind your eyes with trembling mermaids
And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses
How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing

Let Her Go by Passenger
I heard this song so many times this weekend while on a road trip. It actually suits the trip really well...It keeps making me cry and it is on the CoffeeHouse every time I get in the car! I love it but it breaks my heart. "Only know you love her when you let her go, And you let her go..."
Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you’re missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go
Staring at the bottom of your glass
Hoping one day you'll make a dream last
But dreams come slow and they go so fast
You see her when you close your eyes
Maybe one day you'll understand why
Everything you touch surely dies
But you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
Staring at the ceiling in the dark
Same old empty feeling in your heart
'Cause love comes slow and it goes so fast
Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
'Cause you loved her too much
And you dived too deep
Well you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
And you let her go (oh, oh, ooh, oh no)
And you let her go (oh, oh, ooh, oh no)
Will you let her go?
'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go
'Cause you only need the light when it's burning low
Only miss the sun when it starts to snow
Only know you love her when you let her go
Only know you've been high when you're feeling low
Only hate the road when you're missin' home
Only know you love her when you let her go

Statesboro Blues by the Allman Brothers
Peach Festival bound in a couple hours:) "She treat me like a king, yeah, yeah, yeah, and she look like a dog gone queen..."
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low;
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low.
You got no nerve baby, to turn Uncle John from your door.
I woke up this morning, I had them Statesboro Blues,
I woke up this morning, had them Statesboro Blues.
Well, I looked over in the corner, and Grandpa seemed to have them too.
Well my momma died and left me,
My poppa died and left me,
I ain't good looking baby,
But I'm somewhat sweet and kind.
I'm goin' to the country, baby do you wanna go?
But if you can't make it baby, your sister Lucille said she wanna go.
And I sure would take her
I love that woman, better than any woman I've ever seen;
Well, I love that woman, better than any woman I've ever seen.
Well, now, she treat me like a king, yeah, yeah, yeah,
And she look like a dog gone queen.
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low.
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low.
You got no nerve babe, to turn Uncle John from your door.
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low;
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low.
You got no nerve baby, to turn Uncle John from your door.
I woke up this morning, I had them Statesboro Blues,

It Don't Come Easy by George Harrison and Ringo Starr
Sometimes a song is just right on. "Forget about your past and all your sorrows, the future won't last, it will soon be gone tomorrow...Open up your heart, let's come together, Use a little love and we will make it work out better..."
It don't come easy,
You know it don't come easy.
It don't come easy,
You know it don't come easy.
Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues,
And you know it don't come easy.
You don't have to shout or leap about,
You can even take it easy.
Forget about the past and all your sorrows,
The future won't last,
It will soon be gone tomorrow.
I don't ask for much, I only want your trust,
And you know it don't come easy.
And this love of mine keeps growing all the time,
And you know it just ain't easy.
Open up your heart, let's come together,
Use a little love
And we will make it work out better.
Got to pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues,
And you know it don't come easy.
You don't have to shout or leap about,
You can even play them easy.
Peace, remember peace is how we make it,
Here within your reach
If you're big enough to take it.
I don't ask for much, I only want your trust,
And you know it don't come easy.
And this love of mine keeps growing all the time,
And you know it don't come easy.

This is one of the first songs I have a memory of learning when I was just a young kid! Every time I hear this song it gets stuck in my head for days!!! My kids think I'm nuts bc I just start breaking out into song:)
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV ?
Dialing For Dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until three,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a color TV ?
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town ?
I'm counting on you, Lord, please don't let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round,
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a night on the town ?
Everybody!
Oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends,
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz ?
That's it!

Mother's Little Helper by the Rolling Stones
What a fun, sad but true song;) I definitely have had a couple uh huh!!! moments while listening to this song in the more recent years of my life! This song puts life in a real light most people don't want to see. Being a mom is TOTALLY not an easy task but well worth it. My babies smiles melt my heart every day!!! "The pursuit of happiness just seems a bore..."
What a drag it is getting old.
"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Mother needs something today to calm her down
And though she's not really ill
There's a little yellow pill
She goes running for the shelter of her mother's little helper
And it helps her on her way, gets her through her busy day.
"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
Cooking fresh food for a husband's just a drag
So she buys an instant cake and she buys a frozen steak
And goes running for the shelter of her mother's little helper
And to help her on her way, get her through her busy day.
Doctor, please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old.
"Men just aren't the same today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
They just don't appreciate that you get tired
They're so hard to satisfy. You can tranquilize your mind
So go running for the shelter of your mother's little helper
And four help you through the night, help to minimize your plight.
Doctor, please, some more of these
Outside the door, she took four more
What a drag it is getting old.
"Life's just much too hard today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say
The pursuit of happiness just seems a bore
And if you take more of those, you will get an overdose
No more running for the shelter of a mother's little helper
They just helped you on your way through your busy dying day.
What a drag it is getting old.
"Things are different today,"
I hear ev'ry mother say

Ain't Wastin Time No More into Statesboro Blues by the Allman Brothers
Peach Music Festival planned out and tickets officially purchased! Haven't seen them live since they were at the Tower over a year ago. Very excited!!! Last concert of the summer but fall is already panning out pretty nicely;) "You can't let one precious day slip by, Look inside yourself, and if you don't see what you want, Maybe sometimes then you don't, But leave your mind alone and just get high!!!...We'll raise our children in the peaceful way we can, It's up to you and me brother, To try and try again..."
Last Sunday morning, the sunshine felt like rain.
Week before, they all seemed the same.
With the help of God and true friends, I come to realize
I still had two strong legs, and even wings to fly.
And oh I, ain't wastin time no more
'Cause time goes by like hurricanes, and faster things.
Lord, lord Miss Sally, why all your cryin'?
Been around here three long days, you're lookin' like you're dyin'.
Just step yourself outside, and look up at the stars above
Go on downtown baby, find somebody to love.
Meanwhile I ain't wastin' time no more
'Cause time goes by like pouring rain and much faster things.
You don't need no gypsy to tell you why
You can't let one precious day slip by.
Look inside yourself, and if you don't see what you want,
Maybe sometimes then you don't,
But leave your mind alone and just get high.
Well by and by, way after years have gone,
And all the war freaks, leavin' us alone.
We'll raise our children in the peaceful way we can,
It's up to you and me brother
To try and try again.
Well, hear us now, we ain't wastin' time no more
'Cause time goes by like hurricanes
Runnin' after subway trains
Don't forget the pouring rain!
Into Statesboro Blues
Wake up momma, turn your lamp down low;
(and I sure will take her).
I love that woman, better than any woman I've ever seen;

Ripple by The Grateful Dead
Happy Birthday Jerry Garcia! Your music is a huge part of my life and fills my home! These are some of my favorite lyrics of any Dead song. Words of wisdom! "LET THERE BE SONGS TO FILL THE AIR!!!"
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
Perhaps they're better left unsung.
I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.
Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.
Reach out your hand if your cup be empty,
If your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain,
That was not made by the hands of men.
There is a road, no simple highway,
Between the dawn and the dark of night,
And if you go no one may follow,
That path is for your steps alone.
Ripple in still water,
When there is no pebble tossed,
Nor wind to blow.
You who choose, to lead must follow
But if you fall you fall alone
If you should stand, then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way I would take you home!!!!!
La dee da da da, la da da da da, da da da, da da, da da da da da
La da da da, la da da, da da, la da da da, la da, da da
If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?
It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
